Celebrate the Day
National Aviation Week is celebrated during the third week of August, which also encompasses the anniversary of Orville Wright’s birth, August 19. Wright was an aviation pioneer who, together with his brother Wilbur, is credited with producing the world’s first successful airplane in 1903. From 1905 to 1907, the brothers developed their flying machine into the first practical fixed-wing aircraft. The Wright brothers were the first to invent the aircraft controls that made the fixed-wing powered flight possible.
We’ve come a long way in 100 years. According to Ask.com, there are about 87,000 flights per day in the United States alone.
In honor of Aviation week, we’re going to put some paper airplanes together and see who’s will fly the farthest in the office!…after all, we are celebrating the day!
